Introductions
« on: 2013 05 31 - 20:53 »
Hello everyone, just singed up to this forum and thought I would introduce myself. I'm Jerry, a 19 year college freshman at Georgia Southern University. I've been reading self help and personal development material for about 5 years, after I was dissatisfied with my social life in high school. I'm someone, who like you am looking to better my self in every possible way. I recently (and by recently I mean less than a week ago) started my own website dedicated to personal development for young men, but I would love for women to view the site as well.

What brought me to this site was how new it is. I could easily relate to it as my own site is brand new. Hopefully, I can contribute significantly to the forum and I know I will learn a lot from its members.  Feel free to contact me through my email or twitter (@salute2style) , message me through this site, or visit my website manhooddevelopment.siterubix.com. I can't wait to start getting active on the forum.

*toast to the longevity of this site*

Hi,
My name is Dena Warfield.  I just found this forum and am very excited about being part of the community.  I am a writer with a Master's in Psychology and a Master's in creative writing.  My interest is in helping people make changes in their lives for a happier more satisfying and productive life.  I also like to write fiction with a psychological twist.

I recently started a blog with articles on change and self-help.  I started reading self-help books years ago, so I guess, this is a natural progression to now give back to the self-help community.

I look forward to being actively involved in this forum.

Dena

When I was working in radio I was tasked, I said "had to" then, play a five minute audio tape every day at 5 pm titled "Our Changing World." It was hosted by Earl Nightingale and being in my teens I felt that he really could droll on about things I really had no interest in.

After a few months, I started taking time to listen. He really made sense and inspired me to set goals and think about my future.

Nightingale invented the motivational tape industry and created Nightingale Conant Audio Books. He was known as the "Dean of Personal Development."

For many years in my career, I have been pursuing specific goals for myself that have led to a rewarding career in broadcasting, public relations, higher education, and the judiciary. One of my goals has not been realized; I have always wanted to be a mentor, a teacher, and a motivational speaker like Earl Nightingale. So I am very excited to find this forum and to share ideas and my vision for personal development. Hopefully, I will not drone on and bore everyone.  ;)

Hi everyone! I'm Trisha and so glad to join this forum!  My husband and I live life a little differently - on a never-ending roadtrip in our camper!

We have been immersed in personal development for growth and understanding ever since we first met six years ago.

I feel like I'm a huge sponge - eagerly and gratefully soaking up every bit of wisdom and insight that resonates with me.

Reading and listening to audios are a big part of our education ... hope to share more about what we are learning, and to gain new understanding from all the members here.

Isn't life just freakin' awesome?!?!?!   :D

Just joined, hello! I'm an artist and single parent living in a rural community. I read lots of articles, books, blogs, and am on a journey of becoming the best human I can be. I find I have lots of questions. As I live in the middle of nowhere, I have few resources in the way of counseling, coaching and just having a social life with conscious people. Thanks for any advice! I am going to ask some questions!

Hello Everyone,

I am a college student in my early 20s. I like meeting people who are into personal growth. I noticed this is a new forum, but I didn't see any huge active personal growth forum, so I decided to join this one.

One thing I'd like to see is a forum for spirituality in general. I saw that there are yoga/meditation and lucid dreaming forums. However, topics such as chakras, auras, astral projections, and law of attraction (outside of physical manifestations) don't really seem to fall anywhere.

If anyone ever sees me posting around and wants to chat, just message me and I can give you my Skype/email. It'd be nice to meet people with similar interests/goals! I'm open-minded and always try to learn from others. In other words, you can always be yourself around me. :)

Cheers!
- Serene
