When I was working in radio I was tasked, I said "had to" then, play a five minute audio tape every day at 5 pm titled "Our Changing World." It was hosted by Earl Nightingale and being in my teens I felt that he really could droll on about things I really had no interest in.
After a few months, I started taking time to listen. He really made sense and inspired me to set goals and think about my future.
Nightingale invented the motivational tape industry and created Nightingale Conant Audio Books. He was known as the "Dean of Personal Development."
For many years in my career, I have been pursuing specific goals for myself that have led to a rewarding career in broadcasting, public relations, higher education, and the judiciary. One of my goals has not been realized; I have always wanted to be a mentor, a teacher, and a motivational speaker like Earl Nightingale. So I am very excited to find this forum and to share ideas and my vision for personal development. Hopefully, I will not drone on and bore everyone.
